Sainath Polepalli

I am a Prime Minister’s Research Fellow (PMRF) and final-year PhD candidate in the Molecular Biophysics Unit at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. My research employs cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to determine the structure and mechanism of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Cystathionine β-Synthase (MtbCBS), targeting the development of novel anti-tuberculosis therapeutics.

I have presented this work at international conferences including the Biophysical Society Meeting BPS-2024 (USA) and the CRYOZ-2025 (Australia), receiving Best Oral and Best Poster awards. My academic journey is marked by the PMRF fellowship and gold medals at the state and university levels.

I am actively seeking a postdoctoral position to advance research in structural biology, infectious disease, enzyme design, and structure-based drug discovery.
